Highlands Opera Lovers (HOL)
Highlands Opera Lovers is a community group of the St Jude's Music Association.
HOL’s objective is: "to provide our Members with an annual program of events which will help both to meet and enhance their interest in opera, and to provide enjoyment and value for money".
Six Events are held each year, generally from 5-7pm at the East Bowral Community Centre. Covering a wide range of opera-related topics the bi-monthly talks and audio-visual presentations, together with occasional performances and Masterclasses, are given by a variety of specialists and amateur enthusiasts.
Speakers include emerging, current and retired performers; respected writers; producers and directors. Set and lighting designers, a composer and a conductor; voice coaches, a costumier, a puppeteer - all world-renowned in their respective fields - willingly share their experiences with HOL members.
Membership of HOL is open to anyone with an interest in opera, whether new to the form or lifelong devotee. The all-inclusive annual membership fee is $60, and HOL currently has some 60 members.
