The St Jude's Singers

The St Jude's Singers is a four part choral group founded in the late 1990s with the goal of singing traditional choral services throughout the year.  On three Sundays at 2.30pm the Singers sing Choral Evensong and at the Festival Service of the Bowral Autumn Music Festival they sing the Choral parts of the service of Holy Communion.

The Singers also sing a special Service "From Darkness to Light" on Advent Sunday and a traditional service of Lessons and Carols on the Sunday before Christmas.  On Good Friday they either sing Stainer's "Crucifixion" or Bach's "St Luke's Passion".

On the closest Saturday to St Simon's and St Jude's Day (28 October) they present on alternate years Handel's "Messiah" and Mendelssohn's "Elijah".  In these performances the audience is invited to join in the choruses.

In addition the Singers have been augmented to present major choral works including Pergolesi's "Magnificat", Vivaldi's "Gloria" and Brahms's "German Requiem".

Anyone interested in singing the classical choral repertoire is invited to join the Singers and should contact the Director, Dr Allan Beavis on 4857 4027 or 0448 009 434.
